Every eight minutes the American Red Cross brings help and hope to people in need. John Faulkner, 45th Civil Engineer Squadron deputy, helped with the release of the Juvenile red-shouldered hawk Jan. 26, 2017, at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. The hawk was found near the Trident Basin Dec. 8, 2016, unable to fly and was then transported to the Florida Wildlife Hospital where they discovered he had two detached retinas.  The hawk was successfully rehabilitated and turned back over to the 45th Space Wing for release.  (Courtesy photo)

The U.S. Air Force’s 45th Space Wing supported the successful SpaceX Falcon 9 ABS/Eutelsat-2 launch June 15, 2016, at 10:29 a.m. ET from Launch Complex 40 Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. A combined team of military, government civilians and contractors from across the 45th Space Wing supported the mission with weather forecasts, launch and range operations, security, safety and public affairs.  The wing also provided its vast network of radar, telemetry and communications instrumentation to facilitate a safe launch on the Eastern Range.

The 45th Security Forces Squadron held a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil an upgraded military working dog obedience yard at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla., May 11, 2016.The ceremony included a military working dog demonstration and featured Chiefs of Police and local law enforcement K-9 officers from across Brevard County. Among the upgrades include a canopy which lowers the temperature 10 to 20 degrees and keeps the team training year-round all while reducing the impact of rain, sun and heat on our training operations.
