30 Air Force recruits in the Delayed Entry Program, or DEP, swore in during a ceremony presided over by Brig. Gen. Wayne Monteith, commander of the 45th Space Wing, June 14, 2018, at Space Launch Complex-37 on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The DEP swearing-in ceremony was held in front of a ULA Delta IV Heavy rocket, one of the most powerful in the United States inventory.

Lake Nona High School have completed three years of research for the 45th Weather Squadron (45 WS). They presented their results to 45 WS and Kennedy Space Center on April 27. The attendees were impressed with the quality of the research, professionalism and poise of the students. The results are also being shared with the Lightning Advisory Panel, National Weather Service/Melbourne, and the National Weather Service Lightning Safety Working Group. Lake Nona High School and 45 WS are already planning for their fourth year of collaborative research.
