1/11/2013 - PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Diaper Club is a parent and toddler group for children from newborns to 3-year-olds. The group, now in its 17th year, provides a safe place for children to play and learn social skills while parents meet and exchange parenting tips.
"We are always open to anyone who wants to know more about parenting, being a military parent, or just need support with raising their children," said Joyce Cardenas, Family Advocacy Program Assistant and facilitator of Diaper Club. "It is a program I am very proud of and want to see continue to grow."

The continued support of parents who are a part of the club and the Family Advocacy Team have been key factors in its continued success.
"Being able to have a place where our children get to play and do activities for free is a great thing to have," said Kim Henry, a mother with two daughters and a member of the Diaper Club.

A nurse from the New Parent Support Program is always available to answer questions and provide educational information on topics such as growth and development, breastfeeding and general parenting.
Helpful information is also provided to the club through special guest speakers they invite to their meetings.
The Diaper Club meets Wednesdays 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Shark Center located in Pelican Coast housing next to the Youth Center. It is open to families who are new to the base, military or parenthood.
