299 Bowling Score
With every eye in the bowling center watching, Master Sgt. Mary Scoggins, a reserve 45th Security Forces Airman and a career bowler, took a deep breath, and let it fly. The left-hander watched as the ball curved into the pocket, arms raised in celebration, only to watch the 7-pin rock side to side and back and forth. Only to stay there. A 299 game. Missed it by “that much.”

Col. Corinne Naughton, 45th SW Medical Group commander (second from right), excitedly tossed the very first shovel of dirt during the Groundbreaking Ceremony held to kickoff the new $18.5M clinic renovations. “These new renovations will transform the Patrick Air Force Base Medical Group facilities into a state of the art outpatient clinic to be utilized by joint active duty and reserve servicemembers, the Space Coast’s vast military retiree population, and their families,” said Col. “If you’re even wondering if you need help, you probably do,” said Maj. Kellie Griffith, an Air Force psychiatrist, who also serves as the flight commander for the Patrick AFB Mental Health Clinic.
The 45th Medical Group Mental Health officer wasted no time in getting to her point. “If you’re even wondering if you need help, you probably do,” said Maj. Kellie Griffith, an Air Force psychiatrist, who also serves as the flight commander for the Mental Health Clinic. “Call our office at 494-8234 and we can point you in the right direction,” she said. Maj. Griffith, who has been assigned to the Wing since 2005, ( minus a seven-month deployment to Afghanistan) said she has noticed an increase in the number of mental health patients seeking her care, and of the overall distress level of people around the base -- whether or not they’re seeking professional care.
