Leadership/Organization
Wing Leadership: The 45th Space Wing is commanded by Brig. Gen. Douglas A. Schiess

The wing is organized into four groups to accomplish its mission:
-Launch Group: Conducts mission assurance on launch vehicle and spacecraft processing from flight hardware arrival through launch.
-Operations Group: Operates and maintains the Eastern Range assets and responsible for airfield operations, weather and communication support.
-Mission Support Group: Provides support through various functions to the people and mission.
-Medical Group: Provides medical, dental, environmental and public health services.

Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle, is designed to improve our nation's access to space by making space launch vehicles more affordable and reliable by reducing launch costs by at least 25 percent over heritage Atlas, Delta and Titan space launch systems.
