The 45th Mission Support Group and its 1,348 focused professionals deliver full spectrum support to assure success of launch, range and expeditionary operations. They protect $3.4B in infrastructure, 8.2 million square feet of real property at 15 locations supporting 40 tenant organizations, and 10,000 personnel. The group is responsible for over 4,200 buildings/structures, located on five installations totaling 22,825 acres of land and maintaining four runways on three installations.
The 45th MSG provides world-class mission support for range and launch operations ensuring the vitality of national space activities for the Department of Defense, National Aeronautics and Space Administration and commercial entities.
The 45th Civil Engineer Squadron designs, constructs, maintains, repairs and protects 3,270 facilities, 1,018 buildings located within the 8.2 million square feet of real property which support 135,000 active-duty military members, civilians and retirees, worth $3.4B in plant replacement value. The 45th CES provides broad spectrum services to include facility operations, planning and engineering, fire and emergency services, readiness and emergency management, explosive ordnance disposal and asset management. The squadron maintains the longest standing sea turtle conservation program in DoD -- more than 30 years. Recent Air Force awards include; Civil Engineer Squadron (Large Unit) and four flight award winners in 2015.
The 45th Contracting Squadron executes on average $320 million annually in contract dollars, the largest wing level operation in AF. Manages $13 billion space launch operations contract portfolio supporting Patrick Air Force Base, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Ascension Auxiliary Airfield and nine auxiliary sites spanning over a 15 million mile radius. As one of four Air Force units in the Federal Directory of Contract Administration Services, the squadron provides services to all Space and Missile Systems Center programs at CCAFS. The 45th CONS manages over a million government furnished property assets worth $665 million, 121 contracting officer representatives supporting $2.9 billion in service contracts, and the largest GPC program in Air Force Space Command.
Detachment 1 provides a safe, secure and environmentally responsible workplace for launch operations at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, assuring space lift mission support readiness. Provides DoD, NASA and commercial launch users’ critical resources to conduct national space activities. Manages 16,238 acres of environmentally sensitive land and 1,710 facilities worth $6.3 billion supporting a work force of over 3,500 people. Provides safety and protection for over 40,000 annual visitors.
The 45th Force Support Squadron promotes readiness for worldwide warfighting missions by providing superior military/civilian support, leisure/recreation, youth services, lodging, food service, education counseling/enlisted professional military education.
The 45th Logistics Readiness Squadron supports Eastern Range operations through air, land, and sealift, to include Ascension Island quality of life/mission sustainment. LRS achieves this through provision of deployment and distribution, vehicle operations/maintenance, transportation, fuel services, material management functions, personal property/passenger travel and in/outbound household goods support. Additionally, LRS manages the largest munitions inventory in AFSPC.
The 45th Security Forces Squadron provides 135 deployable forces to combatant commanders and integrated defense for 13 restricted areas and 103 controlled areas, 10,000 base personnel and 125,000 retirees and family members. The 45th SFS has the largest Department of the Air Force civilian police force in the service and the most advanced Combat Arms Training and Maintenance firing range in AFSPC.
